This was an incredibly tight turnaround project. I consider this still a WIP because of a few render glitches that occur throughout that made it through into the final piece. This was a great project to test the ORC render platform as the entire project from concept approval to final was completed in a week. I aim to fix these glitches in the next few weeks as well as add a few elements.
I played with the idea of stylizing the math and shapes found in shell structures and mineral growth. Keeping in mind that TED has three main colors, I wanted to keep that number close to the piece with three main events that happen throughout the animation. 1 - First is the BIRTH of an individual or idea which travels through space and time and eventually comes in 2 - CONTACT with other like-minded people and finally 3 - SPREADS which ripples through the world and influences everyone. This concept, I feel, is very close to the core principles of TED.

This year’s reel is a special one because it marks the birth of my new handmade computer and the render power of it’s water-cooled 1080 combined with Octane Render.
I wanted to create a few interesting compositions featuring a stylized object in the center resembling my logo.
This was a fun exercise in re-branding. I created a new identity as well as a whole new aesthetic to match my evolving set of tools.

This was a tight turnaround project in which Modo needed to explain how their system operated to newly registered users. It was a great opportunity to use Cinema 4D’s cel shading capabilities to maintain the brand’s overall 2D aesthetic and to add a little bit more visual interest into the piece.
This short explainer video is now sent to every new user in an email when they sign up.

Agency X is an unconventional marketing and branding company based in Vancouver, British Columbia. They approached me to create an animation for their website homepage.
They came to me with a vision of a Barbie and Ken doll wearing a diverse range of outfits to illustrate their eclectic group of clients and the various talents they represent.
All work was done with Zbrush, Marvelous Designer, Photoshop, Cinema 4D, and Octane Render.
Visit their website to see the full animation.

Another extremely tight turnaround project (3 days). Space + Time approached me to create a trailer for their Mad Decent Halloween party.
I created a custom After Effects template to quickly swap out artist names if some were added or removed closer to the date.
Coming Soon.

Space + Time contacted me once again to create a short trailer for their small festival at the Waldorf hotel in Vancouver.
The aim was to have festival goers know the layout of the venue before they arrived. I created a stylized animated map explaining the different areas and activities. The only hiccup was that the parking lot was full of cars when we shot the footage. Using Nuke I removed them and created a clean plate. Everything else was modeled, textured, lit and rendered in Cinema 4D and then tracked and composited in Nuke.

The talented team at Blueprint events contacted me to create the lineup release trailer for their festival in Holland park in 2016.
We wanted to showcase the scenery that people going to the festival would see on their way into Surrey. I collaborated with Timelapse Films to capture some drone shots of the beautiful landscape around the city.
I created a custom After Effects template for the artist titles so that names could be swapped out last second if needed.

Working in collaboration with Yui + Company, I designed an animated intro for Solidia Technologies. Solidia is a revolutionary cement and concrete company that reduces the carbon footprint by 70% during construction with a patented CO2 formula.
This intro aims to showcase the main ingredient in their solution.
I created an expresso rig within Cinema 4D to parametrically alter the number of electrons, protons, and neutrons in each atom and to have them continue to animate.
